Pumpkin Patch

One of my all time favorite fall activities is the pumpkin patch. It was a glorious day and we all had a wonderful time picking out our pumpkins.

Kitty's

One of the best things about the pumpkin patch were the kitty's. The girls LOVED the kitty's and wanted to hold and play with them the entire time. While they look totally adorable in these pics.....We have had a long talk and we will NEVER be getting kitty's for many reasons. They can love on kitty's all they want. They are just never going to live in our house.

Apple Picking

I am a little behind on posting some of our fall pictures. We tried to get alot of things in before Ruthie's surgery. We loved the apple orchard. Even if it was a rainy, misty morning. Warm donuts can fix that along with some yummy apple cider. The girls had a great time.

You can dress them up.....

The girls are enjoying their fall activities. These pics were taken before the weather turned. Lulu is taking dance (ballet and tap) and Ruthie is taking gymnastics.

Lulu always is dancing. She hears music on the TV, in a store at the doctor's office and the first thing she does is get a sparkle in her eye and then says.... "Can I dance?" She is too funny. They have a window where you can watch them at their dance class and I try to stand where she can't see me because the minute she does, she won't dance and gets embarrassed. Simon has also been known to stand at the window and get all teary eyed.

Ruthie is a monkey. She loves to climb, flip and has crazy strength. She has been in gymnastics before but loses interest. She started up again this year and started to get bored very early into it. I couldn't quite figure out what was "boring" about being in an amazing gym and having all this equipment and kids and be bored. When I asked her what made the class boring she said.... "well, I can do most of all the stuff and so I have to sit around and wait for the other kids to do it with the teacher but the teacher never has to help me and I do it and then just have to go sit down" Pretty interesting. As we were just noticing that it may not be holding her interest.

Good news they contacted me about having her join the "pre-team" class. She tries it tomorrow and if she likes it she can take that class. I am hoping that it works out well for her and if she loses interest I guess there is always BMX and extreme sports.

Team Bisson Update

The past 3 weeks have seemed like a lifetime.

I tend to get homesick, or Columbus sick (our other home) whenever things go a bit off course. The girls have both been having their own health issues and we have been going in so many different directions trying to keep our girls in the best care possible all the while trying to balance everything. We don't live in a heavily medical populated area so to get to specialists and stuff it is a good 30 minutes - 1hour and a half each way. So trying to coordinate childcare for 1 child that is staying home, and then for Simon to take off work and meet us wherever we are going has been a bit of a schedule headache!

We honestly could not have made it through the past few weeks if it wasn't for all our neighbors and friends here. (We love our long distance friends too) From the phone calls, the sweets, the love and support for the girls, the constant prayers and helpful guidance. There is nothing to feel but peace. We are where we need to be. Right at home! With people who love and care for us.

The girls are both doing so great, and I think Simon and I could use a good deep breath, a solid night sleep and a lazy weekend. Unfortunately I don't think that will happen for about 15 years!

Ruthie Update

It was determined that Ruthie had sleep apnea, caused by her overly large tonsils. These things were HUGE. She isn't the kind of child that was always sick, but for some reason her tonsils took up more than 75% of the back of her throat. Not good.

Ruthie had her tonsils and adenoids removed on Thursday and she did so good. We had many conversations going through step by step how everything was going to work out. We are so

We learned that she may have an issue with anesthesia as in... When she woke up she wanted to fight anyone and everyone (SO a trait she got from me) and was pretty dramatic (again, possibly a trait from me). (Good thing she got the cleaning trait and making her bed daily trait from Simon). She was not happy about the IV and if it had not been thoughtfully taped, and then wrapped by the doctor who was told by me that she may get "spunky" she SO would have ripped it out!

But anyhoo.... She was such a HUGE rockstar. So brave, so amazing and really had to be told she needs to rest and NO she cannot go on a bike ride the afternoon after surgery!!!!

I hope to keep her busy this week since she has to stay out of school for a 10 days. She is already stir crazy!

They even put a bracelet on Ruthie's dog Lucky and she brought her Lightning McQueen Blanket Too! Smartest idea was having her wear her pajamas since she just came right home and went to bed.

Guernsey is quite a good nurse and snuggle buddy.

Hours after surgery. Good Old Lil Miss Sunshine shirt on and ready to play. Daddy looks like he was the one to just have surgery.

Lulu Update

One of my favorite Lulu and Mommy pictures.

We spent many afternoons at doctors appts. Hospitals, University of Michigan Specialists, etc......

Lulu gets bladder/kidney infections somewhat frequently. They come out of nowhere. They hit hard, fast. Last time she had a 105.7 fever and was becoming crazy lethargic and puking on me at the doctor's office (good times)

So we have gone and had her get all checked out. Pretty invasive, pretty not fun tests for anyone involved.

Tests on her kidneys and bladder have all come back within normal range.

So for now we are keeping a crazy close eye on her and sleeping better at night that this is all behind us.

Family Trip to a zoo

We took a road trip to a zoo about an hour away. We just can't get enough of zoos. The girls had alot of fun looking at there maps and telling us where to go.

Oh, which way to go?

That way!

We also went to our favorite mall on our way which is always nice to visit.

Penguins...we did see real ones!

Bears

Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader

Lulu had her hair in a pony tail for ballet and was so excited to take it out when she got home. When you brush out the curls it is rather poofy and looks like she lives in Texas.

She still won't let you take a picture of her so these were the best I could do.

Can't a mom just do some dishes?

After lunch I was cleaning up the kitchen and told the girls to play for just a few minutes before we headed outside....... They sounded like they were having a blast with all of their "toys". Yes that is all the couch cushions on the floor, from even the couches in the basement.

Seriously, they had so much fun, and not one toys was used. Another example of one more thing we hide from daddy when he comes home to his clean house at night!
Love you Bub!
