The Zoo

Sunday we took a quick trip to the zoo because the girls wanted to feed the giraffe's. We spend tons of time at the zoo. It is about the only thing to do in the summer around here. Believe it or not, we don't have any pools within miles of where we live. All the more reason to get one in our backyard. There are tons of lakes around which is great, but sometimes I just like the smell of cholorine and the nice tint of green it turns your hair. There is something about swimming when you can see the bottom and know that nothing is going to swim up next to you.

Anyhoo, we did the usual...... Picture on the bug. I mean, really we have to climb on the bug every time we get there. It is right at the entrance and we have to climb on and take a picture. We even have a rule that we can't get on the bug once we get off. Seriously, some days I think the trip to the zoo would be complete with just a sit on the bug. You wait, come to visit, and you too will be sitting on the bug.

Next we headed to "Africa" to see the zebra's, giraffe's and other "African" animals. The best part about the zoo is that you get to feed the giraffe's. You have never felt anything like the feel of a giraffe's tounge. And man are they long. Don't even get me started on the length and what quite possibly they could do with tongue's that big.

Again, it is like a right of passage, if you come to visit, you will absolutely be taken to feed the giraffe's.

Just another day in the middle of Michigan.
